Community organisations and Victorian councils can apply for grants of up to $25,000 for their crime prevention and community safety initiatives.

Applications are now open for the Community Safety Fund, with grant funding available under two streams.

Stream 1 provides funding of up to $10,000 for projects which deter offending at community facilities and in public spaces. This includes security equipment and infrastructure and small-scale physical improvements to public spaces.

Stream 2 support education and awareness initiatives which focus on addressing a range of crime and safety issues including safety at home, theft of and from motor vehicles, theft from businesses and theft of personal property in public places. Funding of up to $25,000 is available under this stream.

As part of an expanded education and awareness project focus this year, initiatives which support better understanding of the justice system in Victoria are also eligible for funding under stream 2.

More than 460 community-led projects worth almost $3 million have been funded through the Community Safety since 2015.

Program information, including the grants guidelines and examples of previously funded projects, and a link to the online application form can be found on our Community Safety Fund page.

Applications close 4.00pm on Friday 18 October 2019. Late applications cannot be submitted.
