Funding has been allocated for camps and other activities to support and engage young Victorians throughout the school holidays to reduce their risk of offending.
For children and young people experiencing challenges, engagement with school provides a meaningful structure and support network, and these programs ensure young people will continue to be supported during the holidays.
$270,000 in funding is being provided to 24 targeted programs during the school holidays, which will support approximately 780 participants, through culturally appropriate day and overnight activities.
Ten programs will focus on young people from diverse backgrounds living in north and south east Melbourne with the remainder supporting Aboriginal children and young people across the state.
